Ah, winter – the season of staying indoors, Netflix binging, and in my case, extreme crafting.
When I am hanging out at home, I want to be comfortable but also feel cute. You know, just in case someone stops by unexpectedly (which never happens, but I am always prepared). I also keep my thermostat a little low, so I can get cozy in my favorite sweatpants and swaddle myself in my electric blanket.
When I am choosing loungewear, style is important, but so is quality, care, and price. I always check the wash instructions before I buy them because I want to be able to throw everything in the machine and not worry about color fading, pilling, or other annoyances that can come from not washing clothes the right way. Here are a few of my favorite budget-friendly and easy care loungewear pieces!
Aerie is a perfect place to shop for loungewear. If you prefer extra length in your tops like me, Aerie is the place to go! Many of their tops are “made for leggings” so you can cover everything. The Aerie Chenille Oversized Hooded Sweater
is a feminine Lilac and oh-so-soft. I prefer V-neck everything, which can sometimes be hard to find in hoodies. This piece combines the V-neck and the hood! I wear mine with my favorite Aerie leggings and fuzzy socks, of course!
I send my deepest gratitude to the inventor of sweatpants because they are honestly my favorite thing on this planet. The first thing I do when I get home from school/work is throw on my French Terry Cinched-Hem Joggers from Old Navy.
I have them in Antique Coral, Heather Gray, Oatmeal, and a cute ivory animal print that is no longer available (sorry). They are super comfy in the legs with a cinched hem at the ankle, a drawstring waist, and pockets to hold all the things you may need while sitting on your couch for an entire evening without moving a muscle. Old Navy is always having crazy good deals, so you can snag these for a good price! I have worn/washed/dried mine A LOT and they still look brand new, so I recommend 11/10.
If you have not heard of Z Supply until this very moment, may I be the first to say: welcome to the addiction. When I say their pieces are soft, I mean SOFT. Z Supply does a phenomenal job of combining cute, cozy, and comfy all in one. I have tons and tons of Z Supply because it is perfect for wearing to class when I want to look cute but not “cute, cute” – if you know what I mean. The Weekender Pullover has an exaggerated side slit in the high-low hem that adds dimension.
Even though it is extremely oversized, the side slit makes it less boxy and your shape more visible. Some people prefer to wear a cami under it, but my leggings are so high-waisted that I don’t even worry about it. It comes in so many colors, but I love the ivory/black stripe because I can wear it with my colored leggings too!
So go ahead and cozy up! Light a candle, turn on a movie, and feel comfy AND cute!
