Timothee Chalamet’s rise to success

With the same number of movies as his age, Chalamet is beyond experienced and praised in his career. At only 30 years old, Timothee Chalamet has already solidified his spot as one of the greatest actors of the generation.

Despite this, award shows have not always gone in his favor.

Chalamet has been nominated for multiple big-name awards, such as the Oscars, Critics’ Choice, Golden Globes and Actor Awards (SAG).

His most praised performances are his roles in “Call Me By Your Name” as Elio Perlman, “Beautiful Boy” as Nic Sheff, “A Complete Unknown” as Bob Dylan, “Dune” as Paul Atreides and more recently, “Marty Supreme” as Marty Reisman.

January 2026 finally brought upon Chalamet’s first major win, Best Actor at the Golden Globes for his role in “Marty Supreme.”

He also recently won a Critics’ Choice for Best Actor for this role.

Both of these wins signify a turn in Chalamet’s career that longtime fans such as myself have been waiting years for.

Chalamet has historically lost the major awards he has been up for, and this shift in results strengthens his case for being one of the best actors today.

My favorite movie of his will always be “Call Me By Your Name,” but his best role, in my opinion, is his role as Nic in “Beautiful Boy.” This role was nominated for a multitude of awards but lost all of the main ones.

Another standout from his filmography is his role in the Bob Dylan biopic. This role took Chalamet six years to prepare for, and his performance in it is outstanding.

But again, the big awards for his role in the film were lost.

During Chalamet’s triumphant Golden Globes speech in January, he briefly mentioned previously walking away from these kinds of shows without a win but keeping his head high, which ultimately paid off.

“Marty Supreme,” Chalamet’s second biopic, came out on Christmas Day 2025 and is another film he spent years preparing for. Marty Reisman was a famous table tennis player, and Chalamet practiced the sport for nearly seven years in order to succeed at the role.

Finally, it seems as though Chalamet’s achievements at award shows are just beginning.

In March, Chalamet will attend the Oscars, which many consider the most important awards show for actors.

“Marty Supreme” received eight nominations, and Chalamet is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, for which he is currently favored to win.
