Hair Products I Live By: Wavy Hair Edition

Growing up I have always had what my mom called "Goldilocks" hair. I had ringlet curls at the bottom but wavy and frizzy hair on top and I was always embarrassed by it. I would see every movie star, model or singer with this beautiful straight hair, and I was envious of it. At the age of 13, I started getting Brazilian Blowouts to make my hair straighter and less frizzy and I would straighten my hair practically every day. When I was about 18, I started to see models and actresses wearing their natural curls and being proud of them. This inspired me. Once I started seeing so many people and influencers embrace their curls, I knew I should too. Here is a list of hair products that help me define and maintain my waves and curls.

1. It’s a 10 Leave-in-Conditioner

This leave-in conditioner makes combing out my curls so much easier because after-shower-hair is so hard to comb through when you have curly hair.

2. Cantu Leave-in-Conditioning Cream

I live by this leave-in conditioner. It is an affordable leave-in conditioner that works wonders. If I am in a rush, I can just throw this in my hair, and I know that my curls and waves will air dry defined and with no frizz.

3. Shea-Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner were a game-changer for me. It is an affordable drug store brand that leaves my curls defined as soon as I get out of the shower. With hair like this, Pantene isn’t going to cut it.

4. Moroccan Oil

This oil is what I throw in my hair once I finish diffusing my curls or after I throw in my leave-in conditioner if I am going to let my hair air dry. It leaves my hair looking and feeling silky smooth.

5. Cantu Come Back Curl

This is a natural water-based hair spray that revives those ‘second-day’ curls. The hardest part of having curls is maintaining them. This product makes my curls look fresh even when I have slept and recombed through them.
