Finding YOUR Style...or maybe not

If you’re like me, you have gone through many, many style changes throughout your life. Growing up, I was a tomboy and only wanted to wear camo, in middle school, a day wouldn’t go by without seeing me in a flannel and band tee, and in high school, I basically just wore what everyone else was wearing.

When you go through all these changes in life, your style changes with it. Recently, I’ve been trying to pinpoint my style to get my wardrobe together, but its a lot easier said than done. Some days I want to wear skirts, heels and headbands like Blair Waldorf, the next day I want to wear a Metallica T-shirt, leather pants and platform boots, and the next I’m in a monochrome sweatsuit and sneakers. My fashion is inspired by so many things in life it's hard to pick just one aesthetic and stick to it. There’s pressure from all over that we have to find our one style, put a name to it and fit that look every day, but you know what? I think that’s ridiculous.

Your style is exactly that. YOUR style. You don’t have to have one specific inspiration for your clothes and stick to that! My closet looks like it could belong to six different people and that is okay! That’s what makes me, me! You can see the all-black rock concert side of me, right next to the pink sparkly girlie side of me, next to the new york boss side, next to streetwear, ’70s, you name it!

The moral of the story is, wear what makes you feel good. Dress as a cowboy one day and as a movie star another. Don’t be afraid of what people might think of you. One thing I’ve learned over time is that if you wear something you love and are confident in, it’ll show through how you carry yourself, and people love to see confidence! Use Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram to find the styles that are perfectly YOU!
