Concerts and empty wallets

I think I have a problem, and it is something my wallet is constantly taking a hit from: concerts.

Specifically, the number of tours that have taken over 2026 that are only getting started. 

Every time I convince myself I can finally stop spending money on concert tickets, another artist announces a tour and suddenly I’m back waiting in a queue convincing myself that it’s worth it.

Tame Impala

Starting with his European leg in early spring of 2026, Tame Impala brought his music to life with beat-changing lights, a 360-degree stage and humour, mixing his popular music from albums like Currents with his 2025 album, Deadbeat.

After receiving major FOMO from the European leg of the tour after having Tame Impala on my top 10 artists every year I’ve had an Apple Music account. 

It got so bad that when I was asked if I wanted to see him in Nashville, I jumped at the opportunity and the setlist with the blends of psychedelic pop and EDM influences made it one of the most popular concerts this summer.

Harry Styles

After his new album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally,” came out in March, Harry Styles has sold out entire stadiums throughout the world like Wembley Stadium in London, Madison Square Garden in New York City and Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. 

As someone who has enjoyed Style’s entire discography, especially his new album, this is one I am sad I can’t attend. With music being played from each album, to upbeat dancing and even Halloween costume shows titled “Harryween,” it’s something that really can’t be missed.

Phoebe Bridgers

While hinting at a new solo album after her supergroup “boygenius” broke up, Phoebe Bridgers surprised fans by having intimate, unannounced pop-up concerts at smaller venues throughout the United States. 

The shows marked her return to performing solo after opening for Taylor Swift during The Eras Tour in 2023.

Fans were asked at these intimate shows to put away all recording devices and experience the concert without their phones. 

After announcing her upcoming tour starting in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Monday, Sept. 14,every concert will be completely free of recording devices, making concertgoers put their phones away in Yondr pouches and unlock them at the end of the show. 

Olivia Rodrigo 

After the success of her new album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,” Olivia Rodrigo is heading back on tour following the success of her 2023 album “GUTS.”

Before even hitting the road, Rodrigo performed at the Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival, a women-led music festival during the last weekend of August in Irvine, California. 

With the festival adding another major milestone to an already busy year, Rodrigo is showing 2026 is already a big year for her.

Steve Lacy

Steve Lacy is making a return to the road in 2026 with his new album “Oh Yeah?” With his unique blend of R&B, funk and rock and his hits like “Bad Habit,” this concert may be a bit smaller than the rest but just as memorable. 

Noah Kahan

After spending the past few years playing some of the biggest venues of his career, Noah Kahan is taking his music back outside with his Ballpark Tour. 

The tour brings Kahan to baseball stadiums across the country, turning some of America’s most iconic ballparks into concert venues for the night. Kahan is known for being a lover of baseball and this tour is something different but fun for fans. 

Ariana Grande

After stepping away from touring to focus on other projects like “Wicked,” Grande's return to the stage has been highly anticipated by fans, selling out quickly when the tour tickets were released.

With albums spanning more than a decade, Grande has no shortage of songs that fans may want to hear. 

At this point, I have accepted that my wallet is not surviving 2026 and honestly with the number of tours still being announced, I don’t think I’m even close to being done.
