Back to School Motivation: Let's Get Planning!


Syllabus week is now in the past and that means one thing and one thing only: school is back in session. The beginning of the semester can often be a stressful time. However, if you take the proper precautions and take a deep breath you can be sure to have a great year.


As students, we are constantly trying to find our place in this world. As a result of that, our schedules are often extremely booked. We have class, jobs, and internships - it definitely can be an immense amount of work on one person.


Therefore, we must stay organized to live a happier life and be a more efficient student and employee.


With that being said, I highly recommend everyone purchase a planner so you can organize your daily schedule and your thoughts. To some, keeping up with a planner seems like just another thing you have to do in life.


However, that could not be more opposite.


Keeping up with your schedule and important events all in your head puts way more stress on you than staying organized by writing out what you need to do - trust me!


If you are not one to keep up with a planner, and you start one - it will shortly become a part of your daily life. It will keep your mind and life organized. It is so much easier to refer to something you have written down, versus digging through your memory. Once you get the hang of updating a planner, you will not regret it.


Amidst the stress of school, work, or an internship, remember to schedule time for yourself. Although your school and career are incredibly important, your mental health is SO much more important.
