Why You Should be Watching RuPaul's Drag Race This Season

RuPaul’s Drag Race has literally taken over pop culture in the last few years. One of the only mainstream television shows to shine a light on the lives of LGBTQ members of society in every minute of every episode. Drag Race is as good as reality TV gets, and if you have not watched yet it is time to catch up with the rest of us, and here is why.

Fashion

Every episode the queens walk the runway and showcase a full drag, high fashion, themed look that leaves viewers gapping at the mouth. Every week you get something different from each individual queen, their own interpretation of that week’s theme. The queens literally create living art right before your eyes. The creativity that goes into bringing each look to life is something anyone can appreciate.

The Makeup

The makeup along with the fashion play into the shaping of the full piece of art. Their ability to alter their facial features and completely change their eye shapes can baffle even a skilled makeup artist.

The Judges and Guest Judges

Every week a panel of judges critic the contestants and decide who stays and who has to pack up their things and go. Each episode RuPaul is joined by good friend Michelle Visage, public figures Carson Kressley or Ross Mathews, along with celebrity guest judges. The first episode of season 11 Miley Cyrus guest judged and ran around backstage in a disguise with the queens. What could be better besides a reincarnation of Hannah Montana?!

The Drama

Every season is packed with gag-worthy drama and season 11 has been no exception. One queen is already plotting her spinoff while another is creating drama with everyone. On the other side, two of the queens are obviously crushing on one another, having yet to confirm their relationship status. OMG.

Miss Vanjie

This queen was the first eliminated for season 10 and she immediately became an internet sensation, a meme overnight. Google her and be prepared to laugh for 15 minutes straight. RuPaul deemed her worthy of a second chance and so far, she has not disappointed. Every joke will have you in a fit of giggles guaranteed. Miss Vanjie is taking of the world just as fast a RuPaul’s Emmy winning series.
