How To Avoid Looking like Everyone Else
Updated: May 26, 2020

Black leather shirts, black leather dresses, black ripped jeans, black (fake) Gucci belts, black Converse, and black Vans. Ugh... I’m ill. Anyone else absolutely sick of seeing this same outfit at every party or event you go to?
Yes, me too.
You may wonder... how can I avoid this? How can I avoid meshing in with the crowd? How can I stand out and let my personality shine through with my clothes?
First of all, I recommend wearing whatever you want to wear and whatever you feel comfortable in. But if you are interested in going out of your comfort zone, I can definitely help you there.
I recommend finding your style.
What does that mean?
It means doing research on yourself and on fashion in general. If you see yourself leaning towards liking pieces in Vogue magazines, New York street fashion, or chill Los Angeles fashion – try finding clothes that fit that style at friendly stores like TJ Maxx, Goodwill, Gabe’s, H&M, Romwe.com, or wherever you see fit.
Fashion is not about blending in with the crowd or even confining yourself to “grunge chic” or any sort of style label - but about expressing yourself and creativity through fashion.
If one day you’re feeling sporty – embrace it.
If you’re feeling high-fashion – embrace it.
If you’re feeling neutral – embrace it.
Whatever you’re feeling – embrace YOURSELF in your entirety.
Put away those Vans for the time being, and break out something fun and unique.
You owe it to yourself.
